Titanuim fireworks hd sound3/25/2023 ![]() ![]() I have a Phoebus and I have had to resort to MS HD Audio drivers until Asus fixes the Phoebus drivers as the card is unusable in MP online games. Your best bet is to wait for the Phoebus drivers to get fixed and then make a decision. If any of you has both sound cards and can give a conclusion to this?īoth cards are pretty good (from a hardware perspective), but you are right Titaniums have driver issues when trying to using things like TS3 with an online MP. I found this on youtube under the video is a link for the titanium hd gameplay but without settings. Here in Germany there are no good tests for soundcards. I found out that some of the x-fi cards go with an I/O Drive Box extension connected by ide-cable. Though I don't really want to lose the features of the external box coming with my 4 pro. I live in germany (sorry 4 my bad english). I consider buying a Creative Sound Blaster X-Fi Titanium HD (SB1270) over my Audigy 4 pro. I use this for Gaming DT 770 Pro (80 Ohm) i use only headphones for gaming. ![]() Have same problems with driver.īut where are the difference between them? ![]() The Creative SoundBlaster Titanium HD is a great soundcard too. I read so much problems here in the forum about the Phoebus (driver) but the hardware of the card is very good. I'd rather just sit here and ask.Hello guys, i wanna buy a soundcard but i dont know which of them. I'm kind of fascinated but it's definitely not worth doing all the work of reinstalling the X-Fi Titanium HD just to test my audio for 2 seconds. So yeah I just want to know if I would have experienced this with the X-Fi Titanium HD if had set the Crystalizer up as high as I set it for the AE-9 (until now, which is off since it's much better that way). I even tried the Equalizer's preamp at -12dB with the Equalizer set to Flat. With Crystalizer off and with a reconfiguration of my Equalizer, my audio quality is much better than it was with the previous settings.īut since you're waiting for me to report my findings after doing what you recommended, they made no difference to the audio ducking with Crystalizer on. With 50%, the audio ducking becomes so difficult to hear that I am now wondering if Crystalizer has always been this way but I've just never noticed due to never going above 50% over the years. It happens even at around 50% Crystalizer with none of the other Acoustic Engine effects on and a very minimal EQ (nothing above 2dB since I don't need any frequency any higher than that). I had isolated Crystalizer after isolating everything else which is how I know it was just caused by Crystalizer. I experienced it with hardly any EQ, 2dB max on the 2k and above range and the Bass effect turned off. :) I was only using Crystalizer and Bass, but I was sometimes using Surround too. So, is this how Crystalizer has always worked? Would I have had the same unwanted effect with my X-Fi Titanium HD if I had it set Crystalizer to 100%?Įdit: Of course, now I'm no longer using any of the Acoustic Engine effects. When I tried setting Crystalizer to around 40-50% (which is what I had always kept it at when I had the X-Fi Titanium HD installed), the effect was still there but it became very difficult to hear, leaving me wondering if I always had this happening with the X-Fi Titanium HD but never noticed due to how extremely subtle it is at about half the level I was enjoying it at with the AE-9. ![]() With Crystalizer off, this strange effect went away entirely. It turns out, it was Crystalizer doing it. Each 8th note caused a drop in volume for the short duration of the 8th note beat. At about 2:45 when he's singing "win without a fight", the word "fight" sounded like it had a digital alteration to make it have a beat to match what Neil Peart's doing on his hi-hats. This unwanted effect became impossible to ignore with the Rush song "Resist" (from Test for Echo). I had always dismissed it as just my imagination. I've been rediscovering all of my music and every so often I thought I could hear what sounds like compression or automatic volume control like Smart Vol - but I have Smart Vol off. With the AE-9, I was liking what Crystalizer does so much that I tested it at 100% and I LOVED the results, until yesterday. Instead of doing all the physical work of reinstalling the X-Fi Titanium HD just to test this one little thing, I'll ask.įor as long as I've been using the X-Fi sound cards, I always used the Crystalizer and I kept it set to around 40-50% in Entertainment Mode, depending on the content. ![]()
